Overview
Under the direction of the Senior Facility Manager this role works as a team member in an Operations & Maintenance organization that provides a variety of O&M services within a 24/7/365 environment. The position maintains critical load reliability and supports building systems in Data Center Operations & Maintenance environments.
Responsibilities
- Effectively complete assigned tasks in the Operations & Maintenance program of the Data Center and any non-DC space(s) under the Sr. Facility Manager.
- Understand and enforce the Owner’s building operations rules and DC Manager directives.
- Use CMMS to track all maintenance work, labor hours, preventative maintenance work orders, and reactive work tickets.
- Apply SOPS/MOPS/EOPs/MMRs as appropriate for site operations and maintenance.
- Provide equipment and system operational modifications such as critical switching, lockout/tagout, and safe work area set‑up for specialized subcontractors.
- Ensure high standards of workmanship are met.
- Comply with company, government, and client policies, procedures and regulations as directed by the Sr. Facility Manager.
- Be available for 24/7/365 work, emergency corrective maintenance, or action activities.
- Comply with all Corporation and EHS requirements and programs.
- Respond to building system alarms with priority to preserving the critical load, minimizing equipment or system damage, and participating in root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to complete maintenance and project work safely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Journeyman level skills in electrical, mechanical, HVAC/R disciplines.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Tier 2, Tier 3, or Tier 4 Data Centers or in operations & maintenance/building engineering roles.
- Knowledge of the ITIL framework and service level standards.
- Familiarity with Work Order Control procedures and CMMS.
- Experience managing subcontractor and vendor contracts.
- Experience managing key performance indicators, capacity planning, and reporting.
- Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and shop practices for electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to respond to equipment alarms, troubleshoot systems via graphical user interfaces, and stabilize operations while OEM technicians are dispatched.
- Competent use of personal computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and AutoCAD (preferable).
- Strong verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, decision‑making, and PC skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple projects and shifting workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to adjust hours as required, including onsite periods during emergencies.
