Job summary

Newmark is seeking a Building Engineer for its critical data centers in West Chester, OH. You will maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems to safeguard servers and core infrastructure.

You will identify faults, respond to emergencies, ensure compliance with codes, and perform preventative tests while documenting findings. The role requires strong teamwork and may include on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years previous critical data center operations engineering experience.
• Proficient with Building Automation Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems.
• Must complete required safety classes related to job duties.
• Familiar with preventative maintenance and work order software systems.
• Thrives in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems that protect and support business critical information systems (servers, mainframes, etc).
• Identify and be able to immediately recognize system faults and respond to operational and emergency situations.
• Maintain strict compliance with all Federal, State and Local codes, regulations and standards.
• Perform preventative tests and analyze data to ensure proper functioning of all base building and critical system equipment.
• Monitor operations and make customer approved adjustments of chilled water systems, CRAC units, HVAC, electrical systems, and emergency back-up systems.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and reports documenting system condition.
• Coordinate contractor and management approvals for work orders with outside contractors.
• Read, comprehend and work from complex technical information pertaining to electrical and mechanical systems.
• Interact with all parts of the organization to respond to service requests.
• May be on-call after regular hours.
