Job summary

Newmark Group, Inc. in Boston is seeking a Building Engineer to provide operational support and maintain critical data center systems, including mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection to ensure uptime.

Applicants should have at least 5 years of data center operations experience, a High School diploma or GED, and CFC certification; duties include monitoring HVAC and power systems, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with contractors to ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Minimum 5 years of critical data center operations engineering experience.
• Proficiency with building automation and power monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, security and fire protection systems.
• Identify faults and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local codes and standards.
• Perform preventative tests and analyze data for proper operation of base building and critical systems.
• Monitor and adjust chilled water, HVAC, CRAC, electrical, and emergency systems; record readings.
• Prepare maintenance logs and reports; coordinate with contractors for work orders.
• Read blueprints and schematics; implement changes per SOPs.
• Respond to service requests to ensure safety and uptime; maintain organized building files.
• May be on-call after hours.
