Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our 24/7 facilities team in the Dublin, OH area.

You will operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, perform routine maintenance, and troubleshoot rack-level and facility events to keep our data centers running smoothly. Qualified candidates have a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and are able to perform demanding 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage cabling.
• Experience in data center engineering.
• Ability to perform physical tasks all day without becoming overly tired.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform limited maintenance tasks including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU and ATS replacements.
• Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed during work.
• Work a 12 hour shift (rotating 3 and 4 day work weeks days or nights).
• Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment during rounds.
