Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Northeast Portland is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team. This full-time role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays, with Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday shifts.

As an ICU/Critical Care Technician, you will triage patients, identify those at risk and initiate CPR when needed, while placing IV catheters and central lines. You will monitor ventilator cases and work closely with a skilled team to deliver advanced

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician, ideally in ICU/critical care.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to triage and obtain patient histories.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Place IV catheters and central lines including jugular and PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases.
• Collaborate with skilled technicians and assistants to deliver advanced medicine.

Schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

As a n ICU/Critical Care Technician, you will:

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for Ventilator Cases
• Work along side other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Feel gratification of nursing critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents
