Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join the ICU team. The role requires flexibility to work Monday-Thursday 8am-6pm with some on-call expectations, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

You will triage, monitor ventilator cases, place catheters, and mentor teammates while delivering advanced care to patients and supporting pet parents with compassionate communication.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for Ventilator Cases
• Work along side other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Feel gratification of nursing critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents
