Job summary

SAGE San Francisco is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join emergency and critical care services. You will care for critically ill and hospitalized patients alongside veterinarians, specialists, and a skilled nursing team, with opportunities to advance to ECC nursing.

Qualifications include a California RVT license (or willingness to be licensed), strong technical and patient-care skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• California RVT license preferred; unlicensed considered.
• Strong technical and patient-care skills.
• Experience in Emergency, Critical Care, ICU or fast-paced env.
• Excellent communication, organization and teamwork.
• Desire to continue learning and advancing clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on nursing care and monitoring for critically ill and hospitalized patients.
• Assess patients and communicate important changes promptly.
• Assist with emergency stabilization, diagnostics, treatments.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and CRIs.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, in-house lab testing.
• Support sedation and anesthesia, including monitoring and recovery.
• Maintain accurate treatment sheets and electronic records.
• Participate in patient rounds and communicate between shifts.
