Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis seeks a full-time unit coordinator/receptionist for the Adult Critical Care Unit at University 3N. The role supports physician, unit staff and ancillary departments by ensuring accurate information flow, signing patients in and out, and maintaining current records.

Shifts are rotating from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm; 8–12 hour shifts as needed; requires HS diploma and preferred Medical Assistant/Secretary training, BLS, and 1–3 years healthcare customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant, Medical Secretary classes, or equivalent preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA preferred.
• 1–3 years of relevant healthcare customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Must complete required training program, if applicable.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide receptionist functions for the unit and coordinate information flow between physician, unit staff, and ancillary departments.
• Maintain comprehensive up-to-date records of patient tests and procedures.
• Sign patients in and out of the unit and alert management to issues or needs within the unit.
