Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a PennSTAR Medical Crew Manager to lead critical care transport staff within the PennSTAR program. The role reports to the Program Director and focuses on workforce leadership, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluation to ensure high-quality care.

Collaborate with the PennSTAR Operations and Logistics Coordinator and CPL to deliver safe, evidence-based care, maintain 24/7 readiness, and promote a culture of safety and efficiency across the program.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania RN or national paramedic (NREMT-P) credentials.
• Specialty certifications (CEN, CCRN, CFRN, CCEMT-P, FP-C) required or considered.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; EVO preferred; EMT/EMT-P/PHRN preferred; PHTLS preferred.
• 5+ years as health care manager or director-level with clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct management of critical care transport staff and scheduling.
• Hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, coaching, and retention.
• Collaborate with CPL to ensure evidence-based care and continuing education.
• Coordinate with OLC for 24/7 staffing readiness and operational continuity.
• Oversee safety, risk mitigation, supply chain, and budget development.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with state EMS authorities and accrediting bodies.
