Three 12-hour day shifts with every third weekend and holiday rotations.
The Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 20-bed specialty ICU caring for stroke, neurointerventional procedures, neurovascular surgery, epilepsy, spinal cord injury, and brain injury patients. Our team of critical care nurses, therapists, advanced practice providers, physicians, and surgeons work together to provide the highest level of care 24/7. The patient to nurse ratio is 2:1 or 1:1, and our team is passionate about delivering exceptional care to every patient.
Job Summary:
The Critical Care Technician (CCT), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated age-appropriate care in a culturally sensitive manner in the Critical Care Units. The CCT assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care, basic restorative services, and critical care skills. The CCT practices and performs tasks learned during CNA training, certification, or basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CCT may be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This position reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and the RNs on duty each shift. Other duties may be assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Training: Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalent within 6 months of hire is required.
Licensure: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, or current enrollment in a nursing program with documentation of successful completion of a basic nursing course and at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
