Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Waterloo, IA is hiring a Clinical Care Specialty Tech (CCST) to join our health care team. This role focuses on outcome-based patient care, supports the care team, and aligns with MercyOne's mission and values.

You will perform ECGs, assist with care delivery, prepare charts, and communicate clearly with patients and staff. The position is full-time on the night shift (12 hours), with weekend and holiday rotations, and includes a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Verification of Nurse Aide course/certifications is required.
• Nurse Aide I or higher certification evidenced by transcript or certificate.
• TNAP certification is preferred and may be provided post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient needs and implement the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assist the patient care team in the delivery of care.
• Communicate relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes.
• Perform unit-based functions as assigned.
• Perform, monitor, and interpret electrocardiograms in multi-settings including proper electrode placement.
• Maintain and distribute unit supplies and materials.
• Act as receptionist and manage patient flow.
• Prepare and maintain patient charts.
• Communicate with patients and staff per age-appropriate considerations.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies.

As a Clinical Care Specialty Tech (CCST) at MercyOne, you will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care, enhance quality patient care, and improve the patient experience. Observes andreports the patient’s response and progress to interventions. Performs clerical duties that support the daily activities of nursing units. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne .

Schedule

• Full time., 0.9 FTE (36 hours per week)

• Night shift hours worked between 7:00am - 7:00pm

• Weekend and holiday rotation required

General Requirements

• Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.

• Using his/her knowledge of the principles of growth and development and related needs, communicates and intervenes in a manner appropriate tothe age of the patient served.

• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

Education

Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the following:

• Nurse Aide I Course

• Nursing Fundamentals Course

• Nurse Aid Competency Test

• Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP)

• Successful completion of the Competency Test, Iowa Emergency Medical Technician Certification

• Nurse Aide II - Advanced Course is preferred and may be provided post-hire.

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
