Job summary

Boston Medical Center South offers a Registered Nurse Transition Program in the Critical Care Unit. This 14-week residency provides 40 hours per week of hands-on patient care and classroom learning, designed to build proficiency in CCU nursing.

Upon completion, participants are converted to a permanent staff RN position within the CCU, with seniority-based position awards. The program emphasizes safety, quality, and comprehensive benefits as part of BMCHS’s recruiting and development strategy.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with MA RN licensure in good standing.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in some units.
• Basic computer proficiency for accessing and interpreting data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for patients.
• Coordinate care across health care continuum with families.
• Ensure adherence to policies and standards of practice.
