Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Step-Down Unit (7 West). The role supports patients with congestive heart failure, COPD, DKA, and sepsis in a 24-bed CCSD with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Expect EKG interpretation, central line care, and bedside procedures while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires Ohio RN licensure, ACLS/BLS readiness, and a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with active RN licensure in Ohio.
• ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Current BLS/ACLS as required by unit policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Critical Care Step Down Unit (CCSD), 24 beds, ratio 5:1.
• Perform EKG interpretation and manage central lines.
• Assist with bedside procedures (endoscopies, bronchoscopies) and patient safety.
• Monitor telemetry and support respiratory interventions (BiPAP, high-flow O2, vents).
• Collaborate with PCNAs, interns, and providers across disciplines.
