Kootenai Health is seeking an RN for the Critical Care Unit – ICU (Neuro/Trauma) in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This is a full‑time night shift (12‑hour shifts) position within the Critical Care Unit, requiring RN licensure, a minimum of 3 years of bedside experience, and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.
• Licensed RN with a minimum 3 years’ patient-facing RN experience at time of hire; ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred.
• Non-BSN RNs with <3 years’ patient-facing RN experience must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year and complete within 3 years.
• State of Idaho RN license or temporary license documented; or current RN licensure from a compact state prior to start date.
• CCRN, CNOR, or minimum 1 year experience in Critical Care, Emergency or OR/PACU as applicable.
• ACLS Required.
• BLS Required (AHA or KH).

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures; perform tests and administer medications within RN scope.
• Educate patients and families; establish care goals and self‑care understanding.
• Perform a variety of nursing tasks; adapt to differing patient needs.
• Exhibit creativity and latitude in clinical practice and problem solving.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the department.
• Maintain familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in nursing.
• Ensure regular and predictable attendance as an essential function.
• Meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned.
