Job summary

Kettering Health Hamilton is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide high level respiratory care under indirect supervision, assess patients, operate ventilators, and administer medications as prescribed. You will also contribute to care planning and patient education.

The role includes diagnostic testing, procedure setup, equipment maintenance, and collaboration with physicians. Precepting students and ensuring safety are key components.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a 2-4 year AMA approved Respiratory Program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in Ohio.
• RRT Credential issued by NBRC or eligible.
• Current BLS with ACLS, PAL or NRP for respective area.
• Acute/critical care knowledge related to cardiopulmonary diseases.
• Ability to precept acute/critical care areas; supervisory capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
• Ensure compatibility with physician orders and patient safety.
• Set up and administer respiratory procedures and therapies.
• Manage mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas administration equipment.
• Perform invasive and noninvasive testing to assist in treating illnesses.
• Record and maintain patient data in medical records.
• Educate patients on disease state, home care, and safety.
• Provide clinical preceptorship for Respiratory Therapy Students.
• Maintain equipment and ensure safety compliance.
