Job summary

Dignity Health Mercy Hospital of Folsom is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver essential respiratory therapies across neonate to geriatric patients. You will perform arterial punctures, ventilation support, airway care, and emergency procedures with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role requires an AMA approved respiratory therapy program, CA license, and multiple AHA certifications (CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP).

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• 1 year of critical care experience.
• Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) - American Heart Association.
• ACLS - American Heart Association.
• PALS - American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).

Responsibilities

• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilation in patients per protocol or orders.
• Draws blood from arterial lines using proper infection control.
• Extubates patients per cardiac/ICU protocol or orders.
• Provides comprehensive patient reports to the incoming shift.
• Clarifies prescribed therapy with physicians and recommends modifications when indicated.
• Assesses oxygen use with pulse oximetry and adjusting therapy as needed.
