Job summary

Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center in Newton, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and life support under physician supervision. The role includes evaluating prescriptions, administering inhaled therapies, operating ventilators, monitoring patient responses, and performing pulmonary function tests.

Candidates should have an AS in Respiratory Therapy with NJ licensure, and an advantageous Bachelor’s degree. EPIC charting experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program is required.
• Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate prescriptions and assess patient condition to determine therapy.
• Render aerosol medications and position patients for optimal breathing.
• Set up and operate devices like ventilators and aerosol generators.
• Monitor and adjust treatment parameters such as gas concentration and humidity.
• Perform pulmonary function tests to aid diagnoses.
• Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment is safe and functional.
• Provide patient education and support for chronic lung disease.
