Job summary

St. Joseph Health – Bryan/College Station, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver specialized cardiopulmonary care to patients with breathing difficulties.

You will perform treatments, ventilator management, oxygen therapy and external ventilation support, while applying keen assessment and critical thinking to plan care. The role requires an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy, TX RCP and CRT credentials, and BLS/ACLS readiness.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• TX Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certification.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs all aspects of respiratory care to patients of all age groups under the direction of a qualified physician to ensure excellent quality care to all customers
• Verifies physician orders to carry out all aspects of respiratory care, and documents all respiratory activity, to ensure excellent quality care to all customers
• Cleans and assembles equipment, and ensures supply stock levels to meet patient care commitments
• Educates and instructs patient, patient's family, and team members on therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to ensure excellent communication to all customers
• Possesses lifesaving skills for all age groups, while maintaining health care provider certification, to provide quality care to patients

Education

Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Respiratory Care Practitioner: TX (RCP)

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days of hire

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire
