Job summary

Highmark Health in Pittsburgh seeks a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide specialty and critical care within the PA scope of practice across outpatient, inpatient, and non-acute settings. You will manage acute and chronic conditions, perform procedures, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties depending on coverage. Requires PA-C licensure and relevant certifications, with potential 24/7 coverage in some shifts.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Current PA license (PA-C) or board eligible.
• Substitutions: 4–10 years related experience or equivalent.
• Preferred 1 year of PA experience in a specialty/procedure-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates diagnostic and emergency care in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Orders and interprets lab, imaging, and specialty diagnostic studies.
• Institute immediate emergency measures and stabilize acute patient situations and communicate with supervising providers.
• Prepare and electronically prescribe medications; perform injections and minor procedures; assist in specialized procedures.
• Coordinate complex care with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team; initiate consultations as needed.
• Provide specialized inpatient/critical care; ensure accurate medical record documentation.
