PCT RN Student IHA - Critical Care Resource Team

Working Hours: 0630 - 1900 or 1830 - 0700

Summary

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and ensuring care is complete.
• Provide compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills in frequent patient presence.
• Maintain excellent communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• 12 college‑level credit hours, including a passing grade in English Composition (C or higher) and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
• Service‑industry experience preferred.
• Complete and accurate accounting for all jobs held during the past seven years, starting with the most current.
• Willingness to work under licensed nurse supervision.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply scope of practice related skills.
• Communicate and collaborate with the health care team effectively and consistently.
• Engage patients and families at the appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
• Problem‑solving and proactive anticipation of nursing and customer needs.
• Provide a valid CPR card, an approved Nursing Clinical Skills certification from a current accredited educational institution, and complete verifiable current transcripts from all college coursework.

This job will be authorized 0.08 hours bi‑weekly.
