Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Medical Intensive Care Unit is hiring a Patient Care Associate to join the team in a full-time capacity. The role supports the nursing staff, performs selected treatments, and helps ensure patient safety and confidentiality in a high-acuity environment.

Under RN supervision, the successful candidate will assist with care plans, document observations, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinicians to maintain quality care standards.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
• Certified Nurse Aid (Required)
• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required) and CNA certification or nursing student who has completed a clinical rotation

Responsibilities

• Performs selected procedures or assists with treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborates with the registered nurse to plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
• Maintains patient safety and confidentiality; documents observations and care rendered.
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff in a courteous manner.
• Welcomes and orients patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.

Education

H.S. Diploma/GED; CNA certification
