Job summary

Sound Physicians is seeking a Board Certified Physician Assistant to join our ICU team in Great Falls, MT. The role involves 12-hour day shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m.) in a 10-bed surgical ICU and observation ICU, collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and therapists to deliver patient-centered care.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years ICU independent-provider experience with documented logs, Montana license or license in progress, and are authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Two years of ICU independent-provider experience with documented procedure logs.
• Montana license; DEA preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and hospital team members in a 10-bed surgical ICU and observation ICU.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement patient treatment plans.
• Conduct bedside procedures including central lines, arterial lines, and intubation; manage mechanical ventilation with respiratory therapy.
• Participate in goals-of-care discussions, family communication, and quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with cardiothoracic surgeons, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and other hospital team members in a 10-bed surgical ICU and observation ICU setting.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement patient treatment plans.
• Conduct bedside procedures within scope of practice, including central line, arterial line placement, and intubation, and manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
• Participate in goals-of-care discussions, family communication, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Physician Assistant.
• Two years of experience as an independent provider in the ICU with documented procedure logs.
• Montana Physician Assistants must have completed 8,000 or more documented practice hours.
• Active Montana license; DEA preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling

ICU coverage: 12‑hour day shift (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) in collaboration with remote tele‑ICU physicians. Average of 15 shifts per month on a modified block shift schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary: $200,000 plus incentive based on 15 12‑hour shifts per month. Full benefits package. Commencement bonus paid in first paycheck.
