Sound Physicians in Great Falls, MT is seeking a Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to staff a 10-bed surgical ICU and an observation ICU, delivering high-quality critical care.

The role requires independence in ICU practice, 12-hour day shifts, collaboration with a tele-ICU physician, and approximately 15 shifts per month with a block schedule. Full benefits, commencement bonus, and a generous salary.

Active Montana license and DEA preferred; authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Acute Care NP.
• Two years of experience as an independent provider in the ICU (with procedure logs).
• Montana Nurse Practitioners must demonstrate completion of 6,240 hours of supervised practice under a collaborative agreement with a physician.
• Must have certificate of full independent practice authority from the state of Montana.
• Active Montana license and DEA preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 10-bed surgical ICU with cardiothoracic patients and an observation ICU, yielding approximately 8 encounters per day.
• Work collaboratively with the cardiothoracic surgeon, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and other hospital team members to deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care services.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and implement patient treatment plans.
• Perform bedside procedures within scope of practice, including central line and arterial line placement and intubation.
• Manage mechanical ventilation in collaboration with respiratory therapy.
• Participate in goals-of-care discussions and family communication.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives as determined.
