Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Critical Care Intensivist to join Salem Hospital’s ICU team on a per diem basis. You will deliver expert critical care for adult patients and provide bedside teaching to residents and advanced practitioners.

The role emphasizes teaching, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to high standards of safety, quality, and patient-centered outcomes within a leading regional system.

Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Training: Accredited fellowship in Critical Care Medicine.
• Certification: Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care Medicine.
• Licensure: Eligible for or licensed to practice in Massachusetts.
• Experience: Prior ICU experience preferred; strong interest in academic/teaching environments encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensivist-level patient care for adults in the ICU.
• Deliver ICU coverage in accordance with staffing schedules and policies.
• Incorporate evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality, safe care.
• Ensure accurate medical records, orders, and documentation per policy and regulations.
• Respond promptly to clinical pages and calls, including emergencies.
• Supervise and mentor resident physicians and advanced practitioners.
• Oversee clinical performance of physician assistants and nurse practitioners as applicable.
• Uphold professionalism, teamwork, and Mass General Brigham values.
