Job summary

Logan Health is seeking a PRN Critical Care Health Unit Clerk to support ICU and PCU teams with essential administrative and non-clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

You will assist with admissions, charting, provider orders, and maintaining patient records, while collaborating closely with nurses and physicians to keep care moving smoothly. This role emphasizes organization, discretion, confidentiality, and strong communication, with PRN night shifts and benefits described.

Qualifications

• Post-high school education or vocational training in healthcare preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• At least one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, documentation, record keeping, filing, and basic office procedures preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification preferred, or the ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-focused mindset with adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support admission, pre-admission, and discharge processes and maintain accurate patient records.
• Enter provider orders and complete essential administrative functions.
• Monitor patient telemetry and respond to alarms, coordinating with the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and other care team members to set priorities in a busy environment.
• Help maintain patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and unit resources.
• Support compliance with Medicare and applicable regulatory standards.
• Manage office supplies with a focus on organization and cost containment.
• Provide professional, compassionate communication with patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Perform other duties that support the critical care team.
