Job Summary *10K Bonus for those who qualify*

Provides Critical Care Transport Paramedic (CCTP) level of care, within the scope of Act 37, to Life Flight patients in conjunction with the Flight Nurse. The Critical Care Transport Paramedic functions and assists as a non-essential team member in Geisinger Emergency Departments and supports Emergency Department healthcare providers in delivering care to patients as needed. The role covers patients from birth to over 100 years of age.

Job Duties

1. Provides critical care transport at the paramedic level until patient care is handed over to an accepting medical facility.
2. Maintains thorough patient care documentation in the electronic medical record.
3. Practices within the paramedic scope of practice as defined by a medical command physician, regional protocols, or the Department of Health EMS ACT 37, and maintains competency through ongoing training.
4. Communicates educational needs to relevant supervisors and medical directors.
5. Maintains Pennsylvania Department of Health medical command status.
6. If not previously certified, acquires the FP-C credential within one year of hire.
7. Functions in a critical care flight role with an expanded scope of practice approved by the Medical Director and Department of Health.
8. Supports non-essential roles in Emergency Departments as permitted.
9. Maintains competency in equipment and supplies used by Life Flight.
10. Ensures cleanliness and organization of the medical interior of helicopters and supplies inventory.
11. Supports safety standards during all phases of flight and participates in preflight and post-flight briefings.
12. Acts as a preceptor and participates in orientation for new employees and students.
13. Participates in safety and educational activities to improve patient safety and professional knowledge.
14. Works in a patient care environment around aircraft, exposed to potential infectious diseases and toxins, with physical requirements including lifting at least 50 pounds.

Position may require travel and involves working near aircraft and hangar environments with exposure to noise, fumes, gases, and hazards. Employee weight in flight gear must not exceed 250 lbs. Must comply with all policies and procedures.
