Job summary

Sanford Health is looking for Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians to join our critical care transport team in Wisconsin. You will provide prehospital life support and transport for patients of all ages under medical direction.

In this mobile EMS role, you will maintain equipment, communicate with hospital staff, and participate in ongoing training. A high school diploma and EMT or AEMT certification are required; BLS/ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited EMT training program.
• Knowledge of EMT principles, practices, and equipment; ability to troubleshoot.
• Requires Basic EMT or Advanced EMT certification with national registry status.
• State licensure may be required based on state rules; complete NIMS/ICS courses.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS are preferred for enhanced patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital life support for adults, infants and children with trauma or medical emergencies.
• Administer first aid and life support; determine illness/injury severity and priorities.
• Maintain patient assessment, airway management, 12-Lead ECG, and medication administration.
• Communicate with patient, EMS team, and physicians; document interventions clearly.
• Restock, clean, and prepare ambulance and equipment; ensure readiness for next call.
