Job summary
Advocate Health is seeking full-time Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners to join our CVTU. This dynamic team operates under a 24/7 staffing model that integrates intensivists and APRNs for high-acuity patient care, including heart failure, LVAD, thoracic surgery and pulmonary hypertension.
Active Illinois APRN license, national board certification, DEA, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP are required; Master’s in Nursing is necessary.
Qualifications
- Active RN and APRN licenses in state(s) of practice.
- Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if Illinois practice).
- BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, diagnoses and manages treatment plans for high-acuity patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes therapies.
- Provides health promotion and disease management counseling.
- Works within an interdisciplinary team and escalates care when needed.
- Maintains EMR documentation and compliant coding practices.
- Participates in quality, safety and education initiatives.
- Onboards new team members and supports professional growth.
- Keeps productivity and quality metrics to ensure timely care.
