Job summary

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) at University of Louisville Physicians will work in collaboration with CVICU intensivists and adult cardiothoracic teams to provide assessment, management and outcome evaluation for inpatient and outpatient settings. The APRN should hold an MSN with APRN certification; board certification is required, acute care focus preferred.

Kentucky APRN and RN licensure are required, PA licensure also referenced where applicable.

Qualifications

• APRN/PA graduate with valid state licensure and board certification.
• Master of Science in Nursing required; acute care focus preferred.
• ACLS/BLS and DEA certifications obtainable after employment.]
• Required Licensure: APRN and RN in Kentucky; PA licensure in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Participate in rounds with CVICU intensivists and adult cardiothoracic teams.
• Pre-round to identify urgent issues when night coverage is absent and address them with the intensivist.
• Coordinate triage transfers to the floor and bed availability for post-operative cases.
