Job summary

Homeward Bound is hiring a full-time Driver in Dallas, TX to support crisis residential and respite units. The role requires transporting clients to housing, appointments, and medical facilities, with occasional aftercare follow-up.

Candidates must be 25+, possess a valid Texas driver’s license and Texas car insurance, and be able to work one weekend day per week. You will coordinate routes, maintain logs, and ensure vehicle readiness while supporting trauma-affected individuals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and proof of Texas car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Keep driver’s license and car insurance up to date.
• Exercise good judgment in time and service priorities with supervision when needed.
• Coordinate routes, prioritize needs, and communicate with supervisors when changes are needed.
• Complete annual driver trainings and facility trainings.
• Maintain vehicle keys, update transportation/mileage log, keep fuel up.
• Clean the vehicle interior, maintain first aid kit, and ensure safety equipment is up to date.
• Communicate with supervisors about vehicle maintenance and arrange service as needed.
• Assist other teams to coordinate transportation if trips cannot be provided.
• Be prepared to work with individuals who have experienced trauma.
• Support clients through admission processes at behavioral health hospital.
• Demonstrate neatness, accuracy, adaptability, initiative.
