Job summary

Coleman Health Services in Lima, Ohio, seeks a Crisis Technician for the Extended Stay Unit. You will support people with mental health needs through direct care, coordination, and a safe therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admission, stay, and discharge, with follow-up with clients and providers.

• Monitor client needs, progress, and report concerns or incidents.
• Support treatment planning and participation in teams and meetings.
• Monitor medications and report side effects to nursing staff.
• Assist with meal planning, maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Coleman Health Services, a nationally recognized nonprofit provider of behavioral health and rehabilitation programs to foster recovery, build independence, and change destinies for individuals, families, and businesses in our community, is seeking a Crisis Technician for our Extended Stay Unit (ESU) in Lima, Ohio. In this role, you will support people experiencing mental health issues through direct care, coordination, and a safe therapeutic environment.

Job Duties

• Coordinate client admission, stay, and discharge, including follow up with clients, support systems, treatment teams, and community providers.
• Provide direct client care, support, education, and interventions that promote independence and treatment goals.
• Monitor client needs, progress, behaviors, and changes; document care and report concerns or unusual incidents.
• Help clients develop skills, build independence, and participate in treatment planning.
• Monitor medications and report concerns or side effects to nursing staff as needed.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation and maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment.
• Participate in treatment teams, meetings, supervision, training, safety drills, and new staff orientation.

Available Shifts

PRN openings on first, second, and third shifts. Some weekend availability is required, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work some weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or five years of experience in mental health.
• Experience in crisis intervention.
