Job summary

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor in Erie, PA is seeking a Casual Crisis Technician I for the Crisis Residential Unit (CRU). The role offers casual night hours (11p-7a), with some weekends, holidays and on-call shifts. Training is provided and high school diploma is required to begin a rewarding entry into crisis care.

The CRU operates as an 8-bed facility with a multidisciplinary team delivering medication management, therapeutic support, and referrals for ongoing care.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living): help with mobility and medication management.
• Participating in Multidisciplinary Activities: attend staff meetings and collaborate with other professionals within the unit to create treatment plans.
• Act as a member of the recovery team, providing direct care following CSSP principles and recovery models.
• Documentation and Safety: maintain accurate documentation and ensure safety in the therapeutic environment.

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is excited to welcome a passionate and driven Casual Crisis Technician I to our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) team!

Safe Harbor's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an 8-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to inpatient behavioral health care. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, master’s level therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist—works collaboratively to offer comprehensive services such as medication management, therapeutic support (both group and individual), and essential referrals for ongoing care.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess a high school diploma and bring a strong desire to learn. While prior experience in behavioral health or crisis-related settings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide comprehensive training upon hire to ensure your success in this role!

Key Information:

• Schedule: Casual Hours- Night Shift- 11p-7a, some weekends/holiday/on-call required
