Job summary

Community Mental Health for Central Michigan is seeking a Crisis Stabilization Specialist for midnight shifts in Big Rapids, MI. This full-time role provides crisis intervention, on-site evaluations, and stabilization planning for individuals in mental health crises.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field as stated.
• Sufficient mental health experience to perform at a satisfactory level.
• Michigan licensure (LLMSW/LMSW/LLC/LPC/TLLP/LP or LBSW) required; CMHP credential preferred; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate emergency requests and provide on-site crisis evaluations.
• Complete preadmission screenings to determine eligibility and level of care.
• Provide backup for Access and other Emergency Services during high demand.
• Screen inmates for jail diversion post-booking and coordinate with justice system.
• Arrange referrals, psychiatric evaluations, hospitalizations, and inter-agency support.
• Educate families and assist with petitioning and crisis resolution.
• Maintain records, participate in meetings, supervision, and professional development.
