Center For Family Services is seeking an experienced Peer Support Specialist for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center (CRSC) in New Jersey. The role is full-time, daytime, and pays $22 per hour.

You’ll support adults in a 24-hour psychiatric crisis setting with trauma-informed care and group activities to promote recovery and engagement. You must have lived experience, a recognized peer credential (CPRS/NCPRSS/CRSP), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience relevant to the population served and at least two years of recovery.
• Certification as CPRS, NCPRSS, CRSP, or other DMHAS-approved Peer Specialist credential required.
• Demonstration of sound decision-making skills and a valid driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a resource to consumers and support persons on managing mental illness and related areas.
• Greet consumers, assist acclimation to the stabilization center, and provide supportive companionship.
• Apply trauma-informed care and actively listen to consumers and families.
• Facilitate group activities promoting recovery, wellness, coping skills, connection and stabilization.
• Provide information about behavioral health services and how to access them in New Jersey.
• Complete paperwork and incident reports neatly and timely, and communicate with staff to ensure quality care.
