Center for Family Services is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for the Crisis Receiving Stabilization Center, a 24-hour psychiatric crisis center for adults. The role includes facilitating recovery-oriented activities, providing support, and coordinating with staff to ensure compassionate care.

The position requires lived experience, CPRS or equivalent credentials, and a valid driver's license. A $500 sign-on bonus is offered and daytime, full-time hours are available in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience related to the population served and at least two years of recovery.
• Certification as CPRS, NCPRSS, CRSP or other DMHAS-approved Peer Specialist credential.
• Demonstration of positive decision-making skills both personally and professionally.
• Must have current Driver's License and clean driving record in past 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a resource to consumers and support persons on managing mental illness and wellness.
• Use personal experience with mental health services positively for consumers/families.
• Greet consumers entering the stabilization center and help them acclimate.
• Provide supportive companionship to consumers.
• Apply trauma-informed care to interactions.
• Actively listen to consumers and families.
