Job summary

You will collaborate with the team to honor client views, help reduce stigma, promote self-help participation, and assist with intake, telehealth, and transitions between crisis and outpatient care. A valid peer support certification and background check are required.

Qualifications

• ACSU Peer Support Specialist requires lived experience and completion of approved peer support training.
• Must be certified or registered and have completed approved peer support training for discipline.
• Submit to and pass a criminal background check and a drug screening test.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and support using lived experience to encourage client recovery.
• Collaborate with the team to promote a respectful, client-centered culture.
• Help clients identify and combat stigma related to mental health and substance use disorders.
• Increase awareness and participation in consumer self-help programs and advocacy groups.
• Provide warm hand-offs between Crisis Hub Services and outpatient treatment.
• Assist in intake and triage by completing initial paperwork for treatment initiation.
• Facilitate telehealth delivery by assisting with on-site tech needs and coordinating with off-site providers.
