Job summary

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate Milieu Counselor (PRN) to join the Crisis Stabilization Unit and support clients in short-term, intensive care. This fully on-site role involves supervision, safety checks, group and individual activities, and documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in human services, BLS certification, strong communication and de-escalation skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services or related field
• BLS certification (within 30 days)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Effective problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Preferred: bilingual ability

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans.
• Provide crisis management and de-escalation as needed.
• Develop and facilitate daily psychoeducational groups.
• Document observations and coordinate with the treatment team.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and assist with meals and activities.
