Responsibilities

• Develop crisis plans with individuals and use de-escalation techniques as needed.

Crisis Specialist for Afternoon/Evening Coverage!

Part-Time Sign on Bonus of $1,500

We are hiring Crisis Specialists!

CRCSI is hiring a part-time floater position to provide coverage for our Crisis Program; Hours for the position will vary each week as well as days and shifts.

The Crisis Specialist will be required to answer calls (local crisis call and national 988 Lifeline), assist with crisis walk in coverage, and provide mobile services in the community when necessary to resolve crisis situations in Fayette County, PA.

The Crisis Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health assessments, exercising clinical judgement and demonstrate the use of evidenced base practices to ensure needs are identified and are addressed.

The Crisis Specialist provides education and connections to community resources such as homeless shelters, inpatient and outpatient mental health and substance use treatment providers, inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitative services, case management services and any variety of services that can meet the unique needs of the people we serve!

Crisis Specialists are expected to work with individuals in the development of a crisis plan, utilize crisis de-escalation techniques as needed, be an empathetic presence for people experiencing a mental health crisis, facing relapse from substances, fleeing domestic violence or those acclimating to the community after their release from jail. The Crisis Specialist must also demonstrate strong communication and time management skills, due to the sometimes fast-paced nature of this job.

Qualifications

Candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree in a Human Services Field and preferred candidates will have at least one year of mental health service experience.

Employees must have a valid PA State Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Child Abuse Clearance. Crisis does require employees to provide mobile services, therefore employees must have a valid driver's license and must be able to meet acceptable standards on a motor vehicle record search.

This position does require excellent computer skills which include but are not limited to typing, typing while talking on the phone, multitasking, and moving seamlessly between multiple screens or computer programs simultaneously.
