Job summary

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems – A Chimes Company is seeking a Crisis Counselor/Specialist in Exton, PA. The role involves conducting 988 crisis phone and walk-in services, mobile dispatch, safety planning, and related interventions.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social sciences with at least 1 year of relevant experience; behavioral health background; and PA clearances. Full-time and weekend shifts are available with holiday overtime options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with relevant professional experience of at least 1 year, or a Master’s degree in social sciences with relevant experience.
• Experience in a behavioral health setting, including crisis assessment, triage, intervention, and community resources.
• Licensure/certification preferred.
• Clearances: PA Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; not on Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Crisis Counselor/Specialist is responsible for conducting 988 phone and walk‑in crisis services, including mobile dispatch, level-of-care assessments, safety planning, and other crisis interventions as needed.

Schedule Details

Full-Time & Part-Time Weekend Shifts Available. Double Time On All Agency Holidays.

Job Functions

• Conduct effective crisis assessments, triage, and stabilization.
• Provide clinical level-of-care evaluations.
• Conduct telephone crisis counseling to determine appropriate interventions.
• Participate in mobile outreach in a variety of community settings.
• Conduct appropriate aftercare follow-up contacts.
• Collaborate with community partners.
• Provide service referrals and linkage as clinically appropriate.
• Maintain quality documentation of clinical service delivery.
• Provide timely supporting documentation for all clinical services provided.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with relevant professional experience of at least 1 year OR Master’s degree in social sciences with relevant professional experience of at least 1 year.

Experience: Experience in a behavioral health setting, including crisis assessment, triage, intervention, and community resources/systems.

Licensure/Certification: Licensure and/or certification preferred.

Clearances: Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history; Verification that employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list.

Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience.
