Job summary

HopeLink Behavioral Health in Oakton, VA seeks a 988 Learning & Development Specialist (Coach) to supervise Crisis Services staff, manage performance, and drive professional growth within a hybrid work model.

You will conduct individual and group supervision, run staff evaluations, and support quality initiatives while maintaining occasional direct service. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, and overnights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
• 1+ year of direct supervisory experience in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, or behavioral health; 2–3 years can substitute for degree.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time coaching, supervision, and escalation support while maintaining direct service coverage as needed.
• Deliver individual and group supervision with ongoing feedback and annual performance evaluations for all assigned staff.
• Conduct community of practice and case staffing sessions weekly to build staff skills.
• Promote staff wellness through debriefing, recognition, and resilience building.
• Collaborate with program leadership on workflow improvements, compliance, and quality initiatives.
• Maintain some direct service (voice/chat/text) engagement weekly.
• Perform other duties to support HopeLink's mission and 24/7/365 operations.
