Job summary

HopeLink Behavioral Health is seeking a Clinical Supervisor of Community Support Services to lead clinical assessments, supervision, and service delivery for clients with mental health needs.

You will oversee Individual Recovery Plans, coordinate with third-party payers, and provide crisis intervention and education while ensuring documentation meets CARF, licensure, and Medicaid standards.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling or related field.
  • LMHP or eligible preferred.
  • Progressively responsible experience working with persons with mental illness or behavioral disorders.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software functions (e.g. Microsoft Office, Clinical software).
  • Empathy toward individuals with mental illness, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Refer for emergency evaluation when needed and oversee incident reporting.
  • Collaborate with other health care providers and treatment teams.
  • Train new staff and be the point of contact for job shadowing.

Job description

SUMMARY STATEMENT OF POSITION:

The Clinical Supervisor of Community Support Services gathers assessment information to establish DSMV/ICD10 diagnosis and determine eligibility of clients referred for services. Authorizations and reauthorizations are completed as required by third party payers, completes comprehensive needs assessments, develops individual recovery plans, and provides individual direct skill teaching/psych education, family psychoeducation, and crisis intervention. Provides individual/group supervision to Community Support Specialists. Provides training, support and mentoring to new employees and coordinates students and volunteers as needed.

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:
  • Shifts available: Monday - Friday, 9 am to 5 pm
  • Arlington and Fairfax Counties
  • Hybrid, community-based
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients as assigned to improve interpersonal skills and independent living skills.
  • Assess and evaluate skill strengths and deficits of clients to determine clinical necessity.
  • Provide individual/group supervision for Community Support Specialists
  • Review and approve Individual Recovery Plans and Quarterly Reports for all clients served by CSS team. Document supervision provided and recommendations in the clinical record of each client reviewed monthly.
  • Use motivational interviewing to engage clients in making a commitment to change and increase readiness to make behavioral changes needed to improve functioning and overall wellness.
  • Provide psychoeducation on signs/symptoms and teach coping skills to improve functioning.
  • Provide family psychoeducation
  • Provide crisis intervention, safety risk assessments and develop safety plans.
  • Refer for emergency evaluation if risk issues warrant a more intensive level of care. Oversee completion of Critical Incident reporting.
  • Liaison and collaborate with other health care-providers and/or treatment team on a routine basis.
  • Provide training to new staff and/or students and be the point of contact for employees to job shadow to learn how to provide effective services in a community setting.
  • Maintain clinical documentation as required by CARF, Licensure and Medicaid.
  • Meet billing targets as set by the organization for self and supervisees.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in performance of duties and/or other duties as assigned.
  • Represent staff in agency and/or community-based workgroups to enhance services provided within HopeLink.
