Job summary

Heluna Health in Los Angeles is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for the CIRCLE program, a two-person Response Team addressing non-violent crises among unhoused individuals. You will provide outreach and de-escalation, connect clients to housing and services, and document in HMIS under supervision.

Under the CIRCLE program, you will collaborate with Behavioral Health Specialists, engage PEH, and promote access to community resources while reducing police involvement when possible.

Qualifications

• Certification in Medi-Cal Peer Support or approved equivalent within 12 months of hire
• Two years of peer support, outreach, recovery coaching, or related human services experience
• Lived experience with behavioral health recovery, homelessness, or related contexts
• Ability to conduct trauma-informed outreach and employ recovery-oriented practices

Responsibilities

• Deploys with team to respond to diverted incidents from the City
• Provide de-escalation and stabilization interventions
• Enroll unhoused individuals in HMIS and conduct CES assessments
• Link clients to permanent housing opportunities and public benefits
• Coordinate with departments and community partners to connect clients with services
• Assist in transportation during adverse weather or emergencies
• Other duties as assigned
