Qualifications

• 2 years work experience in a mental health/crisis services field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, the Social Services, or a related field.
• Behavioral Health Crisis Provider Training required by MDHHS approved entity.
• Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with a safe and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary liaison between individuals in crisis and mobile crisis team.
• Receive complete and accurate information from crisis representatives or individuals in crisis and relay information to the mobile crisis team.
• Utilize MHWIN dispatch system to deploy mobile crisis team.
• Respond to crisis calls and referrals for mobile crisis deployment.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis interventions for callers in crisis.
• Complete triage to provide initial assessment of the individual’s need.
• Assess all callers for suicide.
• Mobile Crisis and Dispatch Coordinators operate 24/7, 365 days per year; staff must be able to work various shifts.
• Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures, and practices.
• Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code.
