Job summary

Alaska Behavioral Health in Anchorage is seeking a Full-Time Clinician to join the Mobile Crisis Team. The role focuses on emergency mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals during on-call shifts.

The team responds to crisis calls across agencies, coordinating with hospital staff, physicians, and case managers. A master’s degree and Alaska licensure eligibility are required, with supervision and professional development offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
• Licensed in Alaska or eligible for licensure within two years
• 1 year (full-time) post-graduate experience with adults with severe mental disorders
• Additional 6 months of supervised mental health services experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean 5-year record

Responsibilities

• Facilitate client access to voluntary or involuntary psychiatric hospital care
• Prescribe other clinical interventions necessary to maintain safety and reduce harm
• Conduct an emergency intervention evaluation within one hour of contact by crisis line responder
• Inform on-call clinician and involved professionals of crisis results and follow-up
• Evaluate crisis situations promptly and coordinate necessary services to resolve the crisis
