Job summary

Qualifications

• Georgia CPS/CARES certification required.
• At least 6 months of experience working or volunteering as a peer support specialist.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer and documentation skills required.
• Understanding of recovery principles and client engagement is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide early engagement, orientation, and emotional support to clients during crisis intake.
• Lead and co-facilitate recovery-focused groups (e.g., WRAP, discharge planning, community resources).
• Offer peer-driven counseling, skill-building, and problem-solving support.
• Collaborate with clinical teams, discharge planners, nurses, and staff to ensure holistic care.
• Help clients develop self-directed recovery goals and follow-up plans.
• Document client interactions in electronic medical records.
