Job summary

Seneca Health Services is seeking a Crisis Peer Support Specialist to join the Crisis Response Team in Summersville, WV. The role involves providing intensive crisis services, linking clients to Seneca programs, and supporting individuals at risk of involuntary commitment.

You will engage with high-need clients, coordinate with hospitals and local providers, and help connect them with housing, education, and community supports. A valid driver’s license and a background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personal history as a consumer of behavioral health services.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle required.
• Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination and a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a personal guide and mentor for individuals with mental health or substance use difficulties.
• Share and discuss common experiences; provide referrals for services and supports.
• Help individuals maintain mental health or reduce negative behaviors.
• Link individuals to resources for treatment, housing and supports.
• Establish/maintain peer-led groups to support health outcomes.
• Complete assessments and track progress to maintain engagement in treatment.
