Cumberland County Guidance Center in Bridgeton, NJ is seeking a full-time Mental Health Screener for the ARRIVE Program to provide crisis screening, assessments, stabilization, and referrals.

You will join a multidisciplinary team delivering hotline coverage, mobile outreach, and coordinated care for individuals in crisis, with a focus on connecting them to treatment and recovery services.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or related field; 1 year of mental health experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field; 3 years mental health experience, including at least one year in a psychiatric setting.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field; 2 years mental health experience, including at least one year in a crisis setting; pursuing a Master's.
• Registered Nurse (RN); 3 years mental health experience, including at least one year in a crisis setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct emergency mental health assessments and crisis evaluations.
• Provide crisis stabilization services for individuals experiencing psychiatric emergencies.
• Respond to behavioral health hotline calls and provide telephone crisis intervention.
• Screen individuals for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric hospitalization when clinically appropriate.
• Coordinate referrals, service linkages, and alternative treatment planning.
• Assess substance use concerns and support appropriate disposition planning.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, emergency room physicians, law enforcement, hospitals, and community partners.
• Provide mobile crisis outreach services in community-based settings.
• Support individuals and families through education, consultation, and crisis resolution.
• Complete screening documentation, clinical assessments, and required reports.
• Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to clinical team members
