Job summary

The Oakland Community Health Network is seeking a Crisis RN for night shifts in our stabilization unit. You will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed nursing care, monitor safety, and support client stabilization in a fast-paced crisis setting.

Under direct supervision of the Nurse Supervisor, you will perform assessments, administer medications, document care, and collaborate with the care team to ensure coordinated, ethical, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required; master's degree preferred.
• Active RN license without restrictions.
• Minimum of five years of nursing experience in crisis, human services, or medical settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care within the stabilization unit.
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine client needs and acuity.
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects.
• Participate in shift reports and communicate updates to the care team.
• Collaborate with milieu specialists, behavioral health technicians, and other staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Support de-escalation and crisis intervention strategies to promote client safety.
• Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of clients and respond to emergent needs.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and licensing requirements.
• Engage in orientation and on-the-job training for new staff.
• Maintain a trauma-informed, patient-centered environment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and incident follow-up.
• Communicate with clients, families, and external providers to support continuity of care.
