Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a crisis services clinician to provide telephone and face-to-face evaluations in emergency settings, including hospitals and community sites around Pawtucket, RI.

The role requires RN and/or Master’s in a related mental health field, with on-call availability and the ability to work independently within a multi-disciplinary team. Evening and weekend per diem shifts are available, with a focus on compassionate care and professional documentation.

Qualifications

• RN license or Master’s degree in a related mental health field.
• Must be certified or certifiable as Emergency Services clinician.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Respond by phone within 15 minutes during the shift.
• Provide face-to-face mental health evaluations in hospital ERs, police stations, and homes as needed.
• Consult with other service providers for referrals and resources.
• Document all contacts and outcomes, including incident reports.
• Refer clients to community resources and attend required meetings.
• Supervise and consult on-call clinicians requiring training in emergency services.
