Job summary

The role involves de-escalating crises, offering resource referrals, and connecting callers with appropriate mental health services.

You will answer crisis calls with empathy, document conversations, and collaborate with community partners while adhering to HIPAA and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or Human Services preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure with empathy.
• HIPAA compliance knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answers crisis calls promptly with a compassionate, non-judgmental response.
• Conducts risk assessments to determine self-harm or harm risk.
• Utilizes de-escalation techniques to stabilize callers and ensure safety.
• Maintains confidential call records in compliance with policies.
• Collaborates with crisis services and healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
• Participates in ongoing crisis intervention training.
• Maintains and analyzes program statistics and outcomes data.
• Follows confidentiality policies, including HIPAA requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
